Willis Tower Observers Get Extra Thrill
If you haven't been to the observation deck on the Willis Tower, chances are you never went to high school in the midwest. About 1.5 million people visit the tower each day, which might explain why cracks appeared in the coating of the protective glass on Wednesday.
Officials closed the observation deck of the popular Chicago destination Thursday morning, for what they're calling 'routine maintenance' following the incident. A PR spokesperson says the structure is secure, and the glass has been repaired, but nonetheless, a few unlucky tourists got more of a thrill than they were looking for!
