LeVar Burton Officially Wins Kickstarter
Remember Reading Rainbow? Chances are pretty good that if you're a 90s kid, you grew up on this wonderful program encouraging adolescent literacy. Even if you didn't grow up in the 90s, your kids were probbably impacted by the PBS show.
Nostalgia and phillanthropy officially collided in a HUGE way yesterday as the former host of Reading Rainbow LeVar Burton (you know...the Star Trek and Roots guy) set up a Kickstarter goal of $1 million to revive the show, and accomplished this goal in HALF OF A DAY!
just in case you were curious, Burton set up a campaign deadline of July 2nd. I would say everyone wins this one!
